I saw my doctor for my annual physical over a year ago. I was easily 20 pounds overweight, my blood pressure was elevated and my cholesterol levels were high. I was a typical middle-aged woman. I knew I needed to lose weight but was confused about all the different diets and had trouble getting started. It was then I studied the low glycemic impact anti-inflammatory approach to eating. Not a diet but a way of life, I knew I could eat this way for the rest of my life. The science of low glycemic impact eating made sense to me as a doctor. They have plenty nutrients and they fill that void of being hungry.

Why obesity is running rampant, and why type 2 diabetes has become the greatest threat to health in the 21st century. Part of that answer had everything to do with addiction, more specifically, carbohydrate addiction.
We know that as we age, with lack of calcium, our bones can get more brittle. So maybe, just maybe, the body is doing exactly what is right for us. But we don’t want to believe that – we still want to be thin!
